Contractual disagreements caused Gyptian splits with VP Records
The reggae singer has been signed to the label since January 2008. He announced his departure via a media release yesterday. “It’s time I get back to doing what I love which is making music, and time for my fans to hear from me again so I can get on the road and see them. They’ve been asking and begging for new music, time to make that happen,” the release continued.
Gyptian’s albums include My Name is Gyptian (2006); I Can Feel Your Pain (2008); Hold You (2010); and Sex, Love and Reggae (2013), which debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Chart.
